Karen Ellithorne has been shaping South Africa's professional beauty landscape since 1992 — first as a qualified aesthetician working as both therapist and lecturer, then as the founder of Spa & Salon Solutions in 1996.
Her vision was clear from the outset: South African salons, spas, aesthetic centres, and medical practitioners deserve access to world-class products suited to local needs. That principle has guided every distribution decision and product partnership the company has made since.
Karen served as Programme Coordinator for Aesthetic Medicine in South Africa on behalf of Professional Beauty South Africa, giving her rare insight into the industry's evolving clinical and consumer demands. Her experience bringing an international cosmetics brand to market - and later developing the locally-grown Milk Solutions range in 2001 - proved her ability to navigate introducing global products into the South African context.
